Bantry Bay

Originally called Botany Bay due to the botanical garden that was planted there for the purpose of cultivating medicinal herbs, Bantry Bay is now an affluent suburb on the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town.

This exclusive suburb boasts a fantastic location, amazing sea views, and a lack of wind – by Cape Town standards, that is. The city’s South Easter is well known for its blustery habits, especially along this coastline, but Bantry Bay gets a very good deal with its secluded setting.

  • Soak up the amazing views in this sought after location
  • A pleasant walk takes you to a number of beaches with super sights along the way
  • Situated between Sea Point and Clifton, great restaurants are found in any direction

The sea views and spectacular sunsets will have you reaching for your camera regularly. Residences are perched directly over the ocean and stretch high up against the slopes of Lion's Head.

Saunders Rocks lies below Bantry Bay on the border with Sea Point. This small beach has its own tidal pool and it generally not particularly overcrowded. When based in Bantry Bay you are also within easy reach of the Clifton beaches.

With Sea Point as the neighbouring suburb, when needing shops or restaurants, or wanting to swop the peace of Bantry Bay for some vibrant nightlife, everything you may require is within very easy reach.
