Stepping into the entrance hall of the villa guests are immediately struck with the décor and its nod to Scandinavian style. Neutral tones are offset with rich textures and colourful touches, allowing the artworks by Kirsten Simms, Willie Bester, Alexa Vogel, and many others, to take centre stage. Elegant wooden floors are coupled with beautiful paving, and gorgeous rugs provide an additional design element.
The welcoming living area has a cosy library nook for curling up with one of the many books available. Comfortable couches and chairs create a social space in the light and airy room. Arch ways lead through to the front room with its foldback shutters and windows overlooking the garden below. The dining area lies to one side with a TV lounge to the other. Wooden shelves are cleverly arranged with an array of art pieces that form a division between the other living spaces. The kitchen lies behind one of these and is an inviting space filled with flourishing pot plants. There is a separate scullery as well as a study area.
The front room opens on to the stone steps leading down to the garden where various seating areas are available for enjoying sunny days and balmy summer evenings. There is a well-sized lawn for the young and the young at heart to enjoy and a barbecue for some great South African al fresco dining. The swimming pool deck lies to the side of the front room and also has steps leading down to the garden.
Four bedrooms are found on the upper level of the villa. The master bedroom lies at the end of the hall and boasts a superb view of Lion’s Head from the en-suite bathroom. The bedroom itself offers a view of the mountain too as well as one out over the city. It is furnished with a Queen-size bed and the dressing room leads to the en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower.
The second and fourth bedrooms share a separate bathroom with a large shower. One room has bunk beds, plenty of play space, and views of Signal Hill and the city below. The other is furnished with a Queen-size Scandinavian-style four poster bed and a comfortable couch as well as a TV. The spacious third bedroom has a Double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. It too has a view of Signal Hill.
