Villa Leeuwenzicht

Higgovale, Cape Town, South Africa

Located in Higgovale, a tiny lush suburb on the slopes of Table Mountain, Villa Leeuwenzicht offers gorgeous views of Cape Town city, with harbour lights and ocean liners twinkling beyond the garden's statuesque stone pine trees. The Villa is also in the heart of the city's most sought after gated estate, with a single, well-controlled entry point, providing parents with that ultimate holiday comfort: streets that are safe for children to roam.

Every room in Villa Leeuwenzicht makes the most of the 180-degree views, and privacy is afforded by the fact that the villa is well set back, with a charming garden and pool. The owners have custom-built the house around their needs, as well as those of their three children, and visitors will delight in the many thoughtful touches, such as a goods lift (so no-one has to lug a suitcase or grocery bags up the stairs!), the generosity of space, and the air of well-bred luxury.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
The 4 en-suite bedrooms and study are located on the top floor. The main bedroom is spacious and enjoys elevated city views, with a walk-in cupboard corridor, and a huge bathroom (bathtub for two; spacious walk-in shower; separate toilet). French doors lead onto a balcony, shared with the second bedroom, also en-suite. Both these bedrooms have lovely city views.

Bedroom number 3 also has similar elevated city views and is artfully decorated with plenty of feminine touches. The attached bathroom has shower only.

Bedroom number 4 has also has a double bed, with doors opening onto a Juliette balcony, and views of Table Mountain and the city. This bathtub has the best view!

Living Areas:
Traverse the brief flight of stairs and enter what is effectively the ground level: an airy multi-level living space, comprising a large covered and glass-enclosed verandah with BBQ and comfortable seating for 8, with steps leading down to the pool and city views. Fold-and-slide doors from this protected outdoor haven create a seamless flow to the interior: a raised open-plan dining room with 10-seater table, with opening beyond to a courtyard and tinkling fountain.

The lounge is beautifully furnished in shades of cream and mushroom, and features more superb views, as does the adjacent Provencal-style kitchen, equipped for any eventuality. The kitchen has a pretty 6-seater table for breakfast dining, also with views; opposite towards the back is the separate pantry and washing up area, and the outside laundry.

Outdoor:
There is a private garden and sparkling pool, and a completely protected verandah with seating and BBQ. This verandah is effectively an indoor room, so you can live outdoors regardless of inclement weather! Beyond, the estate is extremely well maintained, and very secure. Garage for 2 cars.

Other:
Serviced Monday to Friday. Additional servicing can be arranged at an additional charge.
