Why North West Province?
Home to Sun City, incredible game reserves, and archaeological treasures, the North West Province is the heritage destination of South Africa where almost year-round sunshine can be found.
Rich in history, the province borders Botswana and forms the southern part of the Kalahari Desert. The hot, dry African climate often results in summer thundershowers with spectacular displays of lightning. Winter mornings and evenings can be cold but don’t forget the sunscreen no matter what time of year you visit.
Hartbeespoort Dam, Bloemhof Dam, and Barberspan offer a wide array of watersports for the adventurous and leisurely cruises and amazing sunsets for those looking for something a bit more laid-back. The province also has exceptional 18-hole golf courses designed by Gary Player and excellent sporting facilities.
Game reserves include Madikwe and Pilanesberg where you can search for the Big Five, get involved with conservation, and experience an incredible balloon safari with kilometres of panoramic vistas and beauty that will simply take your breath away.
